Man i was walking into my garden the other day and going into the garage, soon as i went to walk down the steps i hear a snakes, 'ssssssssss' looked down and saw a big a** snake about a 1ft from my leg, i just pegged it inside:D that snake was green ad brown, must of been about 2-3ft in length!!

Eh? I've never heard any British snake make a "ssssssssss" sound. And a 2ft grass snake's about average isn't it? Not "big ass".

"Yea mates, check this little beauty out.

Its the English 'slow Worm', the worlds deadliest snake.

One suck from this little guy and your DEAD within seconds"

btw: Anyone else really missing Steve Irwin.

Hell yeah, he was awesome. I wasn't entirely surprised when I heard he'd been killed by an animal, but I was surprised that it wasn't one of his crocs.

was helping my grandparents out a few years ago removing grass and weeds for them came across a snake and shat myself and automatically went for it with the spade i had looked like sushi after id stopped.

Aren't they classed as protected? So Ed's reply (below) is a slight understatement!

That was stupid. All snakes are rare here in the UK

Just watch yourself next time you unzip your fly when going for a pee.

;)

I don't know about snakes, but I have been cleaning out some weeds and stuff this past week in the garden and the 2 x 30ft greenhouses in the garden, and I hate going in there sometimes, there are all sorts of spiders everywhere and I keep walking into the cobbwebs and thats just nasty :taped:

I was cleaning up again today and found a section which had not been touched for a while and found a little 'nest' next to a plant pot so as I moved it I was just waiting for something to just jump out.... and I was right.... a massive spider came out of it at full speed...and then just stopped on the wall.

I wasn't about to let the thing go so I managed to trap the creature in a jar and it's sitting outside in the garden now in it's new modern home provided by Hellmans Mayonaise.:D

Not to be cruel I let a few air holes in the jar, but not sure whether I am going to let it go yet.:D

Just tried to take some pics but they are not very clear, the spider is already making a new web inside and it;s about 2.5"-3" long and looks like "Brazillian Wolf Spider", looked it up in the encyclopedia.:D

I don't like insects/spiders much so this is massive to me;)

My parents have a house in spain and they have some really nasty biters.

Dad found one in the kitchen one day and picked it up and through it into high grass. Turned out to be a very dangerous.

What?

The kitchen or the snake?

LOL, nasty bastard! I hate spiders but never kill them for some reason, My misses also hates spiders but she likes killing them, It's so funny when a spider runs across the floor, she grabs a slipper and I try to protect the poor little bugger, I then have to try and get it out.........Uhhhhhrg!!

Tragic News.....

The spider has past away in the mayonnaise jar. Sometime during last night and today.

It looks like it started to chew one of it's legs off which is now detatched from itself, and it's stiff as a horses .....

Oh well

You would not believe it but....I thought I would dispose of the mayonaise jar with the spider inside it, and after all this time, I have seen it I just wondered whether it was still alive or not.

Shaking the jar didn't help as it was still stiff and didn't move.

As a precaution I thought I should fill up the jar with water from the air holes I put in 1st, so that's what I did....and then I see the spider jump to life....I could not believe my eyes.....it's STILL ALIVE and kicking. So I drained the water out again and it's still there now, probably thinking about it's next cunning plan.

That was a close call. I can't believe it's still alive, tough little spider!
