2 boot related QU and 1 Air filter Qu (with pics!!)

HI All,

I apologise about the lame questions but my technical knowledge is at best, described as 'poor'!

I bought an air filter today and on getting it home, it appears to be nothing like the one I have in at the moment (which is a HKS but a right mess). Can anyone confirm whether this is a correct filter? It fits OK but i'm a bit concerned that the company I bought it from may have given me a MK3 filter.

In the boot I appear to be missing things... Am I right in thinking that there should be bolts where the holes are and that there should be something between the seat and the spare wheel to hold the carpet up?

The carpet plugs into the lower half of the rear seat. There should be 3 or 4 (can't remember but I think it's 3) plastic plugs that fasten the carpet into the thin wood panel on the upright.

Strange... I don't seem to have plugs or any place on the wood to fasten the carpet. I presume there should be signs on the wood where the carpet was originally pinned?

(thanks btw)

There should be. Unless the previous owner replaced the wood with new stuff.. post a pic and I'll show you where mine are... otherwise, flap the seat flat, line the carpet up, and make some new ones? The reason I say put the seat down is so that when the seat is put down it doesn't rip the plugs out. The carpet kind of folds behind when you put the seats up.

Mate, I'm pretty sure (without going home and looking) that mine fit in here

Thank very much. I didn't even see that hole! - So I just need to get hold of some sort of plug then. It seems strange though as that means there is a drop after the spare wheel to the back of the seats.

That air filter looks like a standard TT air filter to me?

And would that be the same as an N/A filter Hadyn?

Yep I believe the NA and TT panel filters are exactly the same.

Good good :)

My title has been 'clueless wonder' for a long time.... :p Cars are not my area of expertise... (tbh I am still looking for my area of expertise!)

Get some new pics up, boyo.

As for the photos.... when she is ready! (and the NA bashing dies down)

I have dent people coming at the weekend, and I want to try give her a polish as some of the paint is bleeched. Gaz at Envy has given me a quote for a full respray which I have started saving my pennies for.

Yup, there is a drop, like I said, to stop the carpet ripping out the plugs when you drop the seat :p
