merckx
The poor Peugeot driver. I hope the Mitsubishi driver is permanently disabled. He doesn't deserve to recover fully,a long prison term too.

jim_supra
I actually hope that the mitsibushi driver pulls through so they can lock him up for a very very long time. Cheers G Knowing this country though, he'll probably spend a year or two in prison and then be let out early. At which point his 18 month driving ban will have expired. Gruggs
I would rather see him "pay" for his crime even if it costs us money. Hey - what with labour now trying to change their own borrowing capacity i'm sure we've got more than enough to improve the state with new hosiptals, schools etc....oh wait, arent we closing more schools and i'm sure they must be due to vote on their salaries soon?? Daston
How much does it cost to keep a murderer in our prison system for life? How much does a bit of rope and and some wood cost?
Hermit
You guys seem to be forgetting that the police were boxing him in, and it went wrong. It's not the same as that case in USA with that suicidal asshole. Remains to be seen if the police were at fault, or if there was some other cause (barrier already damaged or something like that). Not that I have any sympathy for the driver on the run. RIP innocent driver

Peter P
Looks like an L200 pickup so not suprised the little Peugeot 206 was badly damaged! Sad thing is we all know in 2yrs or so he'll be out and another innocent life will have been taken with no real punishment served! Just adds to what everyone says about it's not necessarily your driving that is the problem as doubt the Pug driver had time to react to a flying pickup! Horrible things like this. The police were trying to do a difficult job, & whether mistakes were made makes no difference in my mind.

hoff
If only everyone was like you Hoff the world would be a better place *looks optimistically into the sky* Sometimes the police should let some guys go and back off, following from the sky but it cant be an easy call. I wouldn't like to make it.
merckx
I don't like those cable type barriers at all, I've noticed quite a lot of them that look too low.
Pot
If the knob hadn't stolen the car, then the police wouldn't have been in a position to stop him... A tragic accident though, and I hope the bastard pays for it, he put himself in that position with his actions, not the poor fella heading the other way.
