SmigzyTT
Dont Mahle make pistons for F1? Nice choice!
Chris Wilson
I have lots of experience with Arias, avoid them! I can get Wiseco ones, but not for 300 quid... I rate these a lot more than JE. I can also supply Tomei, which are very nice indeed, but expensive. Tomei do an 86.5 size, allowing another bore if things go wrong or for future wear. rob wild
Arias: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TOYOTA-SUPRA-2JZ-ARIAS-PISTONS-RINGS-PINS-87-mm_W0QQitemZ160162310514QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item160162310514&_trkparms=72%3A984%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 I have zero experience with Arias pistons though I'm afraid. Cheers Dan I think I'm going to stay away from arias as i've heard a few bad things about them. Dude you need an engine stand lol. LOL Dont worry I now have one but did'nt put this on as i needed to strip it first Dont Mahle make pistons for F1? Nice choice! I believe they do matey I have lots of experience with Arias, avoid them! I can get Wiseco ones, but not for 300 quid... I rate these a lot more than JE. Cheers Chris if you want to price up some Pistons i.e. wiseco 87mm then that would be helpful Whats your mark up on that Phone call? Seem pretty pricey from this site: http://www.nengun.com/tomei/forged-piston-kit-toyota-2jz USA: http://www.tomei-p.co.jp/_2003web-catalogue/efr_index.html Click piston -> 2JZ (at top of the page) TBH if I end up spending a bit more on pistons I'm not to bothered as this project is not all about budget and I really like the spec of the Mahle piston set. Also they are one of the lightest Pistons around for the 2JZ weighting in at 319g which is very impressive! Possibly due to the skirt size compared to the CP's etc. Mahle pistons: http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/partdetails/Mahle/Engine/Pistons/ProSeries_Supra_2JZGTE_Turbo/7137 http://cgi.ebay.ca/MAHLE-PISTONS-FORGED-TOYOTA-2JZ-GTE-SUPRA-DISH-14cc-909_W0QQitemZ280249488545QQihZ018QQcategoryZ33623QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1713.m153.l1262 About $850 which really isn't a bad price for that spec of component good luck mate Cheers buddy! Hope your is up and running! Will have to meet up soon I could do with your skills on my bumper Only just seen this...Top stuff, this will come in great use one day! Chris Wilson
Nice pistons, may have a shorter life than Wiseco or others, due to skirt area, but for sure, these are the most race engine orientated pistons I have yet to see for the MKIV, never knew they did them. Wiseco appear cheapest from the place mooted eralier, I can't even BUY from Wiseco's UK agent for that price.
Lee P
I have the same scoring on my pistons and bores with the CP pistons. I have also seen this problem on other engines with inexpensive pistons. I wouldnt use CP again. Good choice with Mahle.
