Not the scariest as it wasnt planned but definitely the unluckiest at the time

Blown up in N.Ireland in 1992 whilst on patrol

Funny thing I swapped sides of the road with a mate just prior to the alleyway, i walked past the alley way and took the blast, the mate was safe on the other side of the road in my original spot.

the pirate ship in oakwood park. when i was about 19 me and the ex went there for the day and she wanted to go on the pirate ship so i thought why not it cant be that bad. well every half hour they would have a more 'adult' version where it goes, or seemed to, beyond verticle. we ended up on the back seat aswell and without a safety belt present i swear to god i was starting to fall out each time the ship reached its high point. as soon as id start to slip the downswing would catch me again. i did not let go of the handle bar even when it had stopped!

and as we were getiing off there i was as white as a sheet barely able to walk passing little excited kids Q'in up to go on!

Right let me get my bearings back.

Just got back and 1st of all babysitting was an absolute joy, those kids are angels :)

Secondly...I started reading through some of the replies and I had to stop to make a cup of tea and a bowl of Fruit & Fibre to sit down and appreciate what you guys and gals have expressed, and I must say what a rollercoaster ride of emotions just reading and some really great/shocking/crazy/unfortunate/upsetting (if they can be called that) stories.

Going to be difficult to reply to all of them right now but for those that went through some rough times...I hope it's all good now.

Just to add another little event.

When I was younger, my bro and I decided to play in the school on a saturday, which was right behind our house so sometimes we used to climb the fence and enter through an area where the fence was cut which was at least 8ft-10ft high into the entrance. Before the fence though were metal railings you know the ones that look like spears with the pointed tips at least 5-6ft high.

So as I climbed the fence and just about to climb through, I slipped and fell.....the next bit hurts me to think about it...but lets just say I was very lucky again.

The metal spear (railing) missed the 'crown jewels' by inches and fortunately ended up through my arm/wrist missing my main veins by 3 inches. I was only about 8 -10 years old. My brother was freaking out so had to calm him down after pulling my arm out from the railing, tough as I was...never cried...went straight to my mum and showed her she then freaked too and then she slapped me round the face from the panic:blink: Not a thing a mother wants to see.:Pling: Had to wait 6 hours in A&E before being seen :search:

Walking to South Quay station in Docklands just before 7pm on the 10th February 1996. Met a security guard who wouldn't let me go into the station itself. Pleaded and begged for him to let me onto the platform because I really had to get to Liverpool St station to pick the wife up. He wasn't budging so I head back into the office swearing loudly all the way. Walk into the office and announce to the guys I was working with just how p!ssed off I was and then as I was talking......

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMM

The loudest, most incredible noise lifts me off my feet and throws me across the room. Ceiling tiles fall down, dust everywhere.

My world had turned into this:

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/8/8d/SouthKey_bombing_-_9.2.96.jpg

The building I was in was the other side of the station and was partially shielded from the blast, it also had bombproof windows so although the windows bowed in and out at least a foot under the pressure wave from the bomb they staying in one piece. Had they not I would have been minced.

For months afterwards any loud bangs had me scuttling under tables. :)

Bomb stuffQUOTE]

Blimey, that is scary.

Funny thing was that I then had to walk from the Isle of Bogs, up Commercial Road almost into the City to collect my wife (who I knew would be in a cab on the same road). I walked up the middle of the road through the enormous traffic jam looking in all the cabs for my wife. When I found her I paid the cabbie and walked with her back onto the Isle of Dogs. Hell of a long walk. Very weird evening.

1. Driving with 100mph and when I pushed the breaks... they didn't seem to work :)

2. Was about to fall off the 5th floor... I somehow managed to grab in the last second and like 2/3 of my body was already out...

3. Was crossing the street and was twice a mm away from being hit by a bus :) Not my fault, there was a walkway and no clear sight of the road and the bus drivers were waaaay above the speed limits...

4. When in car... seing a big bad bus coming right in front of you... and then BOOOOM... I wasn't driving and fortunately no injuries at all...

5. This is not a thing that I've done, but also unpleasant experience... waiting for my mother to come out of surgery on her head... two times...

6. Was an actual witness of ppl hit by cars and buses and stuff like that...

Those are the worst moments in my life... so far...
