miko_supra
The one on my drive shaft has split and i know that you can get universal fit ones which are designed so that you don't have to take the drive shaft off.
Swampy442
Yeah Ive used them, its like a normal boot but is, in effect cut, in half, you wrap it round and glue it together (glue was provided in the one I used)
Chris Wilson
IMO they are a total waste of time if you are doing anything more than getting an MOT and selling the car. The C/V gaiter, very especially on FWD cars, is the hardest worked "rubber" component on a car, including any suspension bushes and the tyres. That's why OE ones usually last about 100,000 miles and aftermarket ones about 10,000 miles if you are lucky. The split type are especially iffy . Im getting my geometry sorted out tomorrow, Will doing this job affect it at all or can i take the drive shaft out without undoing any of the control arms? Chris Wilson
You can remove and refit either drive shaft without disturbing the geo.

ivan
They're not too bad provided you don't mind redoing them every year.
