JustGav
Bit of an odd one... I've noticed cisco have pulled the 2500 support ages ago from the TAC, problem is one of the guys here that I'm mentoring with regards networking has a spare 2514 that he has now hosed the IOS on. Problem is I can't seem to find a version for the 2514, pref IP-only. Thanks Gav
Muffleman
Well, I understood 'bit of an odd one' but the rest cleared my head by a good few thousand feet
JustGav
Well, I understood 'bit of an odd one' but the rest cleared my head by a good few thousand feet Hehehehehe, don't feel bad, the 2500's were my bread and butter many years back. Nowadays some of the network specialists I speak to can get the 'blah-blah-blah' face from me
Alex
lol If you can't find it Gav I've got no hope Do you need the install for a emulator or to update the 2514 to the last IOS released? Only got a 2503 here...

Only got a 2503 here... An emulator would be spot on, as I could then set up a lab for them... I had clean forgot about those these days. I've also got 2 spare 25xx in the loft somewhere which I must put up to a good home. Cheers for that (Wood for trees time)

Wez
I have prob got some 25xx IOS some where, we still have hundreds of them installed, along with 26xx and 28xx. On a side note we have found the 28xx series to have some reliability issues
Thorin
On a side note we have found the 28xx series to have some reliability issues It's unlike Cisco IOS to have issues, most likely they're just "features" We've had fun and games recently with a pair of routers at work, numerous different IOS versions eventually fixed the problem that we were having with them... only to introduce another. meph137
I never got a 2500, went for the 3000's, they were cheaper then I buggered the IOS on one and had to rely on tftp boot cus it had hardly any flash, D'oh!

Our issues have included the unit hanging to the point where a physical power off/on was the only fix, the system critical environment these are operating in ment that the units where replaced. We have only seen this issue on 2810s, some of our 25xx and 26xx units have been running in excess 3 years without interuption.

As much as I always have been and always will be a cisco 'fanboi', I've taken a HUGE step back from using the latest cisco images. Just after 11.0.3 (or something like that was released) on the 2503 (the ethernet-isdn ones), I deployed it across my estate (approx 250 routers), turns out that particular image 'hoses the raawter' they told me 1 hour later ... true enough I had 250 dead IOS's, and of course 249 of them were out in Africa and Europe. Not sure how many people have had to do a Xmodem recovery on a cisco but when you are battling language as well it gets interesting, much like trying to get a picture out of Nizam

JustGav
If you need it buddy i have just got 12.3.26 GD Nah tis okay, after forgetting about the emulator option, I had a quick look at the 2514 he had, and it has the typical 6144KB of DRAM, which pretty much negates ANY 12 image, and I reckon 11's are going to be tight. So I will see what mem I have to help him out.
