This is my first ever attempt at spraying/painting anything, it's not perfect but definitely an improvement from the sewege green it was before. This guide came in fairly handy - http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=127904 I used the Halfords grey primer, clear lacquer, and went for Volkswagen Diamond Black Pearlescent for the main colour. I did the letters by paint brush. The Toyota logo and '3000' are boltgun metal and the 'two way twin turbo' and '2jz-gte' are in mithril silver. The lacquer hasn't quite dried yet, and I think I put a little too much on, but I think it looks alright. Would be interested to know what you guys think. Before: After: It looks a bit out of place at the moment but i'm going to try and get some of the engine bay polished up so that it looks cleaner. Cheers, Ricky. supra matt Posted July 12, 2008 Share Posted July 12, 2008 Looks nice mate but needs more clear coat on it to give it the like glass shine , whip it off and go give it another coat but a wet one hold the can about 7" away and move slow ish over it you will no when its right as you will see your reflection in it . I've no idea whether the paint will be fine with the heat or not, we'll soon find out. Worst comes to worst i'll just do it again with different paint. I've seen a bolt set for the spark plug with polished bolts on ebay, is it worth getting this or is it easy enough to find these type of bolts & washers in a DIY type shop? I'm 2 bolts shy anyway.
