Sidelights issue

Hi All,

I have an issue with my sidelights not working....

Checked fuses - all ok - replaced anyway

Checked bulbs - all ok

Dashboard etc, full, dipped, rear lights all OK, all dials working too which I thought would absolve fuses.

No power to the actual connections to the sidelights. I could understand one side going (dry solder or such) but both? How far back do I have to trace the lights to get to a common point? Is there somewhere common these fail? I did A-level electronics but I'm far from an auto-electrician!

The previous owner had the same issue - http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=35383

but alas cannot remember how he resolved the issue. He did take apart the headlights and paint them then reseal, they did over the winter get a little condensation in them but that's now dried out (maybe as the sidelights stopped working... hmm..)

Any help would be truly truly appreciated as I have my MOT due by 19th :(

Free small reward if anyone can help me resolve this issue!

Cheers

Si
