jamesmark
They're not a phone manufacturer so it's to be expected I guess. As a tool, the phone part of it is really secondary. For me Nokia have always made the best actual phones and if I had to rely or use a mobile a lot then it'd be a Nokia. Agree on Nokia's, I got itchy feet waiting on the N96 release so opted for the iPhone.
garetheves
Got mine as an upgrade today. Having a slight issue with transfering things from old phone, i think its my fault, but ill ask anyway: Basically last week i bought a new computer, re-installed Itunes at the time but havent used it since. Completely forgot to sync my phone (old iphone) and back it up before. Now when i connect my old phone i cant copy anything to/from it. So i cant transfer old txts, contacts, photos etc to my new one. Is there a way round this??
Pete
Is there a way round this?? Not sure, I've not had this situation so can't help. I do know it's a nightmare if you didn't backup the old phone.

Bummer, might nip into O2 this week and see if there is anything they can do. Bit crap how all contacts are saved on phone and not sim. Ric
you need to authorise your itunes to your account, however it still might not like it

Pete
Don't you still have the old phone? If so, stick the SIM in it, subscribe to Mobile Me services and sync all the contacts to that. (60 day trial) You can then do the same to your new phone AND your PC or Mac to back up your contacts and calendar entries there too. garetheves
Bit disapointed tbh. I was under the impression that the 3G part of the phone enabled things like picture messaging to/from the phone, but it doesnt appear to. So far the only difference between the old one and the new one is a slightly faster internet connection, and i mean slightly. Think ill be taking mine back this weekend as it really isnt worth the extra £159 i had to pay for the handset on top of what i had already paid for the original. Robbing bastards ! Typically, in a real world situation 3G should give you an internet connection that's at least twice as fast. Maybe up to 4 or 5 times as fast if you're really lucky (in a strong area, and everybody else with an i-phone isn't doing the same thing at the same time). Edit : Actually, I'd like to correct that. I assume the i-phone does support HSDPA? That's what my comments were based on, but it could be 3G without HSDPA, in which case the most you'll get is 384kb/s.
