iPhone 3G - anyone tempted?

I'm an Apple man through and through, but this iPhone business has left me cold so far, even though I'm due an upgrade.

Anyone on here got/getting one today?

The main thing I'm worried about is the stupid lack of basic features, like the apparent lack of picture messaging / copy/paste etc...

I'm due an upgrade from the old iPhone to this one but I'm not bothering at the moment. Crap camera, no video capture, no picture messaging, crap bluetooth.

Not much point upgrading from the old iPhone from what I can see the only change is that it's now 3G.

I'll get one, but only because I've been lost without my old one since I sold it - 8gb for £150 not bad ;)

I want the 16GB in black but they've sold out so I'll wait.

I'm annoyed at the lack of extra features offered but when I got the first iphone I didn't miss the camera on my Sony half as much as I now miss the ipod and internet on my old iphone... It'll be a lovely day when all phones use internet mail to send and receive messages and photos as it'll all be available online or on your phone then.

They asked where it should be deivered but i was unsure as to where i would be so thought get it sent to the weston branch.. Did the order checked the confirmation.. and the phones being sent to Bridport! apparently they cant change it either!

I just went into the town centre in Basingstoke and went into the 02 shop. There was a queue of about 20 people outside (which I jumped :)) all waiting for the new IPhone.

I played around with it and couldn't really see much different other than the back. The camera seemed OK... not the best though.

I can see the attraction for the GUI but that's about it TBH. Me and a mate were laughing at the people queuing up... it all seems so pointless.

sorry not for me. Nokia all the way, you can get 100's of softwares for Nokia, my last phone had convo recording, call cheater etc, very handy ;)

My name is Bond, James Bond.... are you a spy by any chance? :) I've never needed to record a conversation :D

Nokias long lost the plot/edge. n95 was supposedly the greatest thing since sliced bread until people realised the battery lasts 10 minutes.

Not tried n95 'black' but sorry, I've long left Nokia as have investors. Share price is going down down down down... or at least it was

was massive queues outside carphone warhouse and o2 today. Assume its for iphone.

I can't believe so many people would queue for it.

Me too, there was a large queue outside my local o2 this morning. Look on the bright side, lots of people paying £££ for toys is a good sign for the economy. :D

Good point - especially when shares in general are doing so well at the moment.

er.. they started dropping after sharp gx10 came out (known more commonly as David Beckham phone). Nokia didn't adopt the flip/shell type phones which cost them heavily in market share.

questioning my ability to analyse share prices :p

Er - Nokia's market share hasn't dropped, and certainly not significantly. And Sharp is not a siginificant competitor at all.

they did drop back when that phone came out. Sharp is no competitor by any means, but was using that to illustrate the time period.

Market share did fall back in this period.

Not that you are disputing Nokia's share price, but it has fallen as below as per my original post.
