Dazzi
EDIT: Pictures and prices on page 2 POST 28 Im just gauging interest on here really as I usually sell these once a year on ebay but im put off with the high fees this year. I have Sarrecenia (American Pitcher) and Dionaea Muscipula (Venus Fly Traps) The Venus fly traps are not your typical 'Garden Centre' plant, these are rare and come from as far as Japan. The America Pitchers are simply stunning with the variation of colour. I will take some pics tonight

RiceRocket
I know they exist but I can't get why nature produced a "carnivorous" plant!
jamesmark
I would have a bash, as the dog is losing his touch in his old age. How much on average are they? How easy are they to look after?
SupraStar 3000
i had a really nice Venus fly trap once in my bed room. Only ever needed the odd fly and rain water (not tap). Very impressive plants. I might be interested too
ADL Mark
I'd definitely be interested in one or two of these, haven't had a Venus fly trap for a long while and would love one again. They look a lot nicer than anything you'll find in a garden centre. I assume you manage to post them ok if you've sold them before on eBay? Wez
Whats the ideal environment for these? Where in the house would they be best suited?
Wez
I know they exist but I can't get why nature produced a "carnivorous" plant! Bugs eat plants, maybe its natures way of getting them back
Dazzi
Very easy to look after. I keep mine outside all year round. They do best under cover in a green house on in a window with plenty of light. They can survive on 1 fly every 6 months but for best results 1 a month. If your house doesn't have many flies grab a jar and catch a fly. Put it in the fridge for 5-10 mins until it to falls asleep then take it out and place it on one of the traps. When the fly wakes up it will trigger the trap to shut. The plant needs to sit in a tray of rain water from Spring to Autumn and during the winter months they need to be kept outside for its dormancy period which lasts about 4 months. This helps the plant regenerate for the next season, and usually the plant doubles in size and devides. Also, during the spring, the plants send up flower shoots which can be exciting if you want to cross pollinate with over VFT's. Postage is simple. The plant is left in the pot. The soil is taped down so it doesn't come loose and a pot or plastic cup is placed over the plant to protect it from damage. So basically it arrives with 2 pots end to end all taped up and wrapped in a bag to keep moist with bubble wrap protecting it from the postie. All plants are sent out in box's not envelopes or bags. The price for these reflects the rarity: Red Piranha: Large/adult-£15 Medium-£8 Small-£5 Cup Trap: Medium-£10 - very rare Trichterfalle: Medium/Large-£10 Medium-£8 Fused Tooth: Medium-£10 I have a few other varieties to list later with the pictures. Also I will take pictures of the Pitcher Plants. Unfortunately, due to the size and weight of the pitchers in their pots, they will be taken out of the soil, wrapped up and sent. All you require is a deep pot, moss peat soil mixed with sand to 2:1 to get them going. Pitcher plants work in the same way as the VFT's requiring a decent meal now and then and also a dormancy period. Sizes depend on availability
