Im sure the twins water neck mod would work just fine but i prefer this billet one, no plans to shroud the fans, Lee has had the same setup on his car for a long time with good results, if it turns out they are not for me then i will just go back to a stock fan setup. Oh, I'm sure your current fan setup will work well over here - mine is pretty similar and unshrouded, and holds up well to the Australian summer . Cheers The power steering pipes are just 10mm push on hose, so easy to do. The fans will be controlled by the ecu but with an overide switch in the car. jevansio Posted November 23, 2009 Share Posted November 23, 2009 I had my filter there, after a while it was covered in mud, ended up moving it back into the bay & going to do a cold air box, you have an oil cooler to protect it don't you Jamie? It does get a little dirty there (no mud has ever been on it, just a little road grime) ive changed it a few times, normally when i do the oil, every two or three thousand miles, id rather have the cold air. Are you saying that because electric fans don't change speed at higher RPM (unlike the clutch fan) that at higher road speeds they become a greater resistance, requiring an alternative airpath? The aux tensioner is iron as standard so that will be aftermarket, I just ordered one from Titan the bottom one is alloy and can be polished though. Thanks! If you have a look at the AAP kit, the shroud is designed to aid the fans efficiency. When you are driving the car the fans are not required and the shroud can restrict the airflow through the rad. The aux tensioner is iron as standard so that will be aftermarket, I just ordered one from Titan the bottom one is alloy and can be polished though. Yeah works really well, I looked at the rotation plate but couldnt see it working on a RHD car so came up with this instead. Same system I'm running nice work. Popped over to see it Sunday all coming together nicely with the wire/ABS free setup, very clean looking engine bay.
