AdzC
Hi, I've not used the Supe for a few weeks and when I went to it on Sunday thought i'd start her up to get stuff running after neglecting her. I noticed that the start was a little delayed but fired her up and let her run but not for long. Been out to go for a spin today and the battery is flat. Will it be OK to jump start or perhaps it may be time for a new battery from Halfords. I've never changed it and i'll have had her nearly three years now. Advice please. gaz1
i would say a new battery will be the problem, they don,t like going flat, you can and i have jumped mine, although its not reccomended as the sudden surge could fubar the ecu
AdzC
Thanks Gaz. I've had a change of thought after jump starting not being recommended here. I've got a mains charger for the car battery which I thought I would put on charge for a while then put the battery back in rather than jump start it. AdzC
Decided to go for a Halfords HCB005 as it seems to be the one of choice on here. Got the last one although it was £
Pabs
I'm thinking of getting a mains trickle charger for mine too.... any recommendations in your searches, or did you not bother looking? I've got an Exide Deep Cycle battery, so want to look after it

A fe members on here have them. Saw a Black and Decker charger in Halfords when I was getting the battery and that was about £60.

peter richards
attached to the terminals then just clipped safely under the bonet, or down to the intake the end is insulated so no water gets in when your driving , then just plug in when the cars not in use. or just connect with the normal croc clips if its in a garage , both are supplied

Sorry for the thread hijack - I'll stop now I found this site quite reasonable. Probably order one myself. attached to the terminals then just clipped safely under the bonet, or down to the intake the end is insulated so no water gets in when your driving , then just plug in when the cars not in use. or just connect with the normal croc clips if its in a garage , both are supplied Would the bonnet have to be up then with the charger on? Just thinking that my Clifford won't like it with the bonnet not shut.
merckx
I might go for the CTEK 36 , 5 year warranty. http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/products/products/59301/ctek_36_charger_conditioner.html

Pabs
exactly the same thought for me - my Clifford alarm will need bonnet to be shut. Hmmm... interesting!
Pabs
well new seats arrived today, so went to get car out of garage to fit them, and battery is flat Car clicks lots, but won't start. So I've popped down to Halfords and got one of their automated car battery charger things. It's on charge now, and hopefully I can get it up and running again soon! Not sure how long it'd take to charge, nor do I know how quickly the battery will charge when driving, so fingers crossed that once it is charged, it stays that way - I don't fancy being stranded in the middle of nowhere

Pabs
I'm back up and running Battery was fully charged in a couple of hours, car started first time. 14V (ish) when running, so alternator etc is fine - it's just because the car hasn't been driven for 3 weeks. Needless to say, I've been out for a very enjoyable blast
