mikeyb10supra
whats the BOV made off?? your pipe need to be the same, usually an alloy of some type If you are on about the stock bov its a cast iron
bolarbag
If your bpu and buying say an SSQV you dont need to weld the BOV to the pipe, it just gives you the option to use the existing pipes You could also weld the intake pipe post or pre IC, assuming you have an aftermarket one, blanking off the oem pipes

If you have aftermarket intercooler pipes they are normally alli as its much lighter than steel.
Axle
Cheers lads, Well im going for this BOV. http://redhat3.admarkonline.com/nippon/product.phtml?p=1057 I have recently bought a Greddy Type R SMIC which directly fits to the original pipes. And as far as im aware no pipes have been changed. I currently have a BLITZ BOV but i am getting abit of Turbo flutter, so dont think its up to the job really. In anycase i fancy a change Right so, if its the original pipes, should i source a steel flange? Because that BOV is going to need welding on i believe, as its not got a direct flange to fit? Is there an advantage for all aluminium pipes?

Nic
The flanges are normally welded onto the intercooler pipes (aftermarket hardpipes), as you are using the standard plastic pipes, you are not able to do this. You will need to buy a complete BOV kit specifically for the Supra, these usually fit in the standard BOV location.
Axle
Cheers Nic. Better check to see what my Blitz BOV is attached to. Never actually noticed the pipe it was attached to.
