went to look at the howdens range last week jamie , not much of a showroom , and no prices available , took a few cards that were on the counter , one carpenter came over and measured up , no price from him yet.

the ones we looked at in the stores were ok , but the fitting charge was more than the kitchen

I use Lannervale in Liverpool. They are manufacturers, and I will eat my Supra if you can get better. Check out their prices. Went there yesterday for some replacement handles for a job, £2.34 + VAT. B+Q- £12.99! I kid you not.............

All their carcasses are 18mm, you will find that cheap kitchens have 15mm. 3mm may not sound much of a difference, but when assembled they are much more sturdier and solid.

These guys do the best budget kitchens on the market. I sell these myself at work (I run a plumbers merchants), although you're a bit far from us at York.

Get in contact with them though, they'll be able to recommend a local dealer.

They do flat pack and pre assembled units, with the best carcasses and hinges/runners of any budget kitchen.

Hope this helps.

Just be careful who you buy from. I worked in corporate insolvency for a little time and I closed down a whole host of kitchen companies. All the companies left kitchens with doors missings, parts missing etc etc.

Another trick is that MFI and Magnet often hire outside fitters who often work for the above mentioned companies.

thanks from the web site there is a local dealer , ill go and see what they have , the carpenter came back with the howdens design and a price of £3.500, which i think is a bit to much for what we want , but saying that a grand is probably the fitting cost
