DannoSupra
Guys im having trouble with Xbox live connection, it'll play ok then all of a sudden my connection will drop and i'll get disconnected. I have gone wireless since moving house and people say thats the cause I did buy a Netgear RangeMAX WPN824 is there any way of using that router to boost connection quality or would it be best running a cable? My router is in the living room, and the xbox is in the conservotary, passed the kitchen Cheers Dan
Whitesupraboy2
try changing your wireless setup to channel 9, I have had no problems withthis channel. You change this in the router configuration.
Ark
I think channel 9 being OK is coincidental. If you want to get technical, install a wireless sniffer on your PC, and see what channels are in use nearby - it could be down to a neighbour on the same channel, or in could simply be your building blocking the signal. Whitesupraboy2
Unfortunatly not coincidental, it was documented that the xbox emitts a wireless signal (for the controller turn on feature) which plays up with some wireless devices. I.e home networks. Caused me months of pain and eventually moving my xbox behind a thick wood desk and changing to channel 9 solved it. Most people on the forums noticed an improvement on channel 9. http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/15/strange-xbox-360-signal-might-affect-wireless-lans/2 Its kind of ironic the xbox 360 is blocking it via its own signal. Ark
Fair enough. I never had that problem - I looked at the price of a wireless doo-dah (£50) and the price of a cable (10p) and made the obvious choice.

Hence as soon as the 5Ghz range is out and approved for wireless devices, I will be getting that for the home network, to stop any interference.
