Wez
Hey All, Would anyone be interested in a group buy for a Bosch 044 fuel pump kit. Ideally we need 10 people. Price will be between £135 and £155 plus UK delivery. The kit would include :- * Bosch Pump #0 580 254 044 * Fuel sock for 044 pump * -8AN outlet adapter A kit like this would normally retail at approx £160 +vat +delivery When I have a number of people interested I will work on a price. Here is a pic of a similar kit installed on a Supra hanger. Here is a flow chart showing comparison to a Walbro 255LPH. Here is a char to show the current draw, @ 5bar its approx 13A Edited July 9, 2008 by Wez (see edit history)
Homer
Put me down as a possible interested party. PS: This thread has been authorised by the mods, if there's sufficient interest it'll go through the normal GB process.

SteveR
How does this compare to JDM/UK/Walbro? Nice chart adding after I'd said this Can you just pull out the stock/Walbro item and stick this in without any modifications? No wiring/voltage/clever circuitry issues? I'm worried that the Walbro is too near its limits on my 550bhp single.
Chris Wilson
I'd buy 2 socks if they were handy money, with the union to go onto 044 pumps. Prices?? A word of warning, the stock Toyota connector plug affair on the tank top doesn't like carrying much more than stock pump current, I have seen them melt with the heat when passing a lot of amps Obviously not a good place for lots of heat. No wiring/voltage/clever circuitry issues? It should be just like swapping from stock to a Walbro, I intend to use it with stock lines and drop in injectors. Current flow chart added to first post. Wez
I'd buy 2 socks if they were handy money, with the union to go onto 044 pumps. Prices?? Once I have an idea on numbers I can get some prices and bundle on two socks for you. Whats a lot of amps, at 5bar these are drawing approx 13A.
Homer
Whats a lot of amps, at 5bar these are drawing approx 13A. It's a good point, as far as I found the draw should be fine for the 044, but the stock wiring is not capable of handling twin walbro's.. especially after seeing the melted wiring on dudes car. Chris Wilson
What does the stock pump pull?
Wez
I thought a twin Walbro setup would be about 30A, maybe just under.
Wez
What does the stock pump pull? I read that the Walbro 341/2 draws approx 12A at 70psi and the stock Denso can be upto 10A more.
Gruggs
so whats the limit for these pumps..could 750bhp be supported? or is that too much?

Wez
so whats the limit for these pumps..could 750bhp be supported? or is that too much? I think its more like 700hp but then the Walbro is supposed to only support 500hp, there are a few cars on here running more than that, mine included. bolarbag
700hp but then the Walbro Are you running your car on a single walbro? What are these like for noise in cabin? I have two walbros just now, but I plan on buying the UK spec oem pumps, with the triple hanger, this may be a cheaper option
Wez
Are you running your car on a single walbro? Currently, yes. What are these like for noise in cabin? I imagine they will be a little bit louder than a Walbro I have two walbros just now, but I plan on buying the UK spec oem pumps, with the triple hanger, this may be a cheaper option 3 Denso pumps, crazy, how much HP are you aiming for? MarkR
Is there a way of quitening the pumps (like layering some dynamat or similiar material over the cover)?
bolarbag
3 Denso pumps, crazy, how much HP are you aiming for? lol...no 2 Denso pumps with the tripple hanger, I wouldnt need the tripple hanger if I bought this, but if I keep the car, the cabin noise might annoy me if the bosch is whiney...the reason I dont really want twin walbros
