Scott
Are you tightening them up properly?
supra_aero
Are you tightening them up properly? yes that^^ use a spanner tool to properly tighten them - doing by hand alone is not enough in my experience
georigg
Hi BRK, I normally screw in the studs uising the "long" arm of an allen screw hex key and turn "tight" on the short arm into the screw, turning it another half turn approx to get theis degree of tightenting. If I do not do this, it will slacken off and the roof starts to rattle going over bumps. Sounds like you need to tighten each screw "fully" after hand-tightening. TRACIE_LOU
sounds like a common problem ours do this to but only after a while, dont really want to over tighten them case one breaks, ive found if i hand tighten each one then go round again a couple of times then lock down the centre locking bolt seems to work better, i doubt the bolts would be so worn they wouldnt tighten up but depends on how car has been treated previously i guess

matthewm1965
I recall somebody curing this by wrapping PTFE plumbers tape around the screw thread.
