A/R on T67

Any progress on this Vaughany?

Hello mate

Yes the problem definitly lies with the turbo, the manufacturer has said they will send the correct turbo over so hopefully there should be no further problems.

I am awaiting the delivery of the turbo and as it has been 10 days I am hoping the garage should be receiving this very soon. Fitting and total remap again and then the car should be as it was meant to be.

It is the little things like this that make you question whether big projects are worth it. Hopefully when I drive the car, the sensation will remove that doubt. I will keep you posted mate on the outcomes.

Glad things seem to be moving forward, what a pain in the ass!

Was the wrong turbo shipped or was it the right one but with some sort of problem?

Hello mate, difficult to know if it is the wrong turbo or if there was just a problem with the turbo as they do not stamp them with any specs. The specialists said the A/R did not look big enough. I will compare them once I receive the new turbo. This should be here by the end of next week.

I am hoping I have no more problems, really want to drive the car. I refuse to drive it with the existing turbo even though it is at 500bhp. I know it seems weird but driving it like that would only spoil the end project. Once the car is at the spec/power I planned then I will drive it.

I have a T67DBB with the 0.68 A/R housing - 625bhp here. It does look very small when you look at it, but it does the job. You could always try the larger exhaust housing anyway - they are quite cheap IIRC. But I would definitely expect more from the 0.68 housing.

i have a t04r with .96 ar (its masif) you can buy that if you want, it was making 520rwhp on the last car at 1.3 bar

How does that help? Vaughany was asking about turbine housings on the T67. You can't compare A/R on different turbos, the exhaust wheels are designed for different conditions. My old GT35R had a 0.82 A/R exhaust housing as that's what the turbine wheel was designed for. It was still a smaller, less powerful turbo.

Hi Guys

The supplier has accepted that the turbo they sent me was wrong and has agreed to send me the correct turbo at no cost to myself. The original question was due to my gt67 not making anywhere near the power quoted or anything near to what power other guys are making on similar turbos.

This raised my suspicion that the turbo was not the correct one. This has later been proven and now the issue is being resolved.
