hadyn
Im fully aware of the power loss and filtration issues of cone filters against the free flowing stock system on the TT, but can anyone whos ran one of these filters please post up their experience of the filter? E.g. - how many miles have you had the filter on for, have you had any issues with filtration or engine/turbo problems you think you might attribute to these filters? UltraFlynn
I had one for a year or so. Decided to take it off and return to standard and sell the Blitz item on. Difficult to say precisely what issues it might have causes. Personally I'm much happier with the standard unit on there. I had an airbox around the Blitz SUS to try and reduce the amount of hot air it drew in.
Trig
ive had mine since ive had the car (30k miles or so) no problems whatsoever here and love the noise it makes
Pabs
No real bad experiences of them here either - although I suspect it wasn't doing me any favours at all. Swapped for an Apexi Power Intake filter, and I've added quite a bit of heat shielding now too
Matt H
It looks really nice. Apart from that its just a filter, always done the job on mine.
hadyn
I used to have one on my old S14 so I know what a fantastic noise they make. I had it on for about 2 odd years and when the turbo came off at 100k miles it was in good condition. However, I quite fancy one for the Supra, just for a 'laugh' for the noise factor. Its reassuring to know that fitting one hasnt destroyed many peoples engines/turbos just yet Anyone got an SUS for sale???
Jim_1979
I've got one too... no issues.

GeordieSteve
Not used mine many miles but think it's great. No problems so far
hadyn
Got one on now. Its OK but the noise doesnt seem as amazing as it did on my old S14. When the engine is hot, it doesnt seem to make much more noise than the stock airbox? Does this change with decat/bpu etc? Also, performance wise it doesnt feel any better or worse than the stock airbox?
Pabs
I doubt you'd feel the difference, for better or worse, that a cone filter would make. You would only be talking +/- 10bhp ish anyway.
hadyn
I dont think a cone would gain or lose you 10bhp to be honest. More like 2 ponies either way
Pabs
well you've answered your own question then - if on a 300bhp car you can feel +/- 2bhp then you're a better man than I
hadyn
The lack of super sucky noises was the most alarming thing for me But this does show how effective the stock airbox is for sucking air in I am thinking why even bother with a cone at all??? lol
Pabs
as are most people here on the forums mate - it is said that the stock box is BETTER than aftermarket kits, which is why you see so many people reverting back - especially if they have one of those HKS mushroom things lol! hadyn
I know mate. I swear by the stock airbox for performance. I just got an SUS second hand very cheap and put it on to see what it was like. You would be mad to buy one of these things for nearly £200 when they offer no performance gain. Pabs
indeed - mine already had one on when I bought it - I replaced the cone itself with a new Apexi Power intake for filtration reasons, otherwise I'd have stuck with the stock airbox!
