Pete
I must have sold my HKS SLD - it's not there. Rooting through my old files I found one I must have done when I was taking it out. It connects to the mysterious B76 Pin 3 and 6. So mine was actually connected to the auto box solenoid as per HKS instructions and produced undesirable effects of hesitation and flashing TRAC lights. Maybe it was faulty, but I think not. Maybe their T6 one is improved, I'll leave it for someone else to try. The chance of me doing more than 100 leptons nowadays in very slight so I give up there. In summary - I'll stand by my previous million comments, there's no known satisfactory solution aside from ECU swap. Would love to be corrected. j_jza80
Some info here on the very similar Aristo, including the gear solenoids (at the bottom) http://clubaristo.net/forums/archive/index.php/t-22969.html
j_jza80
I've managed to find the elusive English instructions for the SLD T6. On page 13, it makes reference to the car being locked in overdrive at high speed, though it is possible to manually change down. I think. http://www.e-bookspdf.org/view/aHR0cDovL2Rvd25sb2Fkcy5ta2l2LmRlL0Rvbi9UZWNobmlrL0hLU19TTEQvSEtTX1NMRF9UNi5wZGY=/SGtzIEVsZWN0cm9uaWNzIFRlY2hub2xvZ3kgU2xkIFQ2IC0gVG95b3RhIFN1cHJh
j_jza80
I suspect I'm going to have to cancel my order for the SLD II, and find an SLD T6. Sadly, these seem very expensive.
Pete
I've managed to find the elusive English instructions for the SLD T6. I hope you didn't look too hard, it's attached four posts up.
j_jza80
That's the wiring diagram, not the full instructions I was just browsing and found them, so I thought we should have a reference here. Once we've got this issue sorted, Could we sticky a definitive guide on the forum for future reference?
Chris Wilson
Not cheap, are they? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HKS-SLD-Speed-Limit-Defencer-Type-T6-Toyota-Supra-2JZ-GTE-AUTOMATIC-/140801086854?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item20c8661586

Pete
That's the wiring diagram, not the full instructions Could we sticky a definitive guide on the forum for future reference? Apologies. We usually try to upload files to the forum so they are archived for future rather than relying on links. Attached here for now. I'll put together a thread which can be moved to the docs section with all info for the HKS SLD's in one place. - - - Updated - - - hi ! I have a VVTI Tip tronic. j_jza80
When you say it works properly, so you mean it delimits the car without any warning lights coming on, or do you mean that it cures the kickdown issue the tiptronic Supras suffer at high speed? j_jza80
So you have tested your car at above 140mph, and it definitely doesn't try going down into 3rd gear? I have both the SLD II and the SLD T6 on their way to me, so at least we can have a proper comparison.
Dutch TT 99
Yes sir, high speed runs on the german/dutch/french highways and track usages(Nurburgring). no problems at all. I first had the speedm8, that is a bunch of crap device.

j_jza80
Is that the diagram you used? As Pete mentioned some undesirable effects with his, which yours does not have. I assume yours must have been wired differently? (correctly)

Pete
Here's a thought. Could the speed converter be what was screwing it up? I'm guessing dutchtt is KPH? IIRC I did try removing mine and running without with the same issues. Maybe my HKS unit was knackered.
