scooby_doo_do
On my MKIV import the fron seat belts are getting a little slow in going back in... What i would like to know is, is seat belts in the back exactly the same as the ones in the front ? If so i'll just swop them round...I don't think the one's in the back of the supra have ever been used ! Thanks... Craig. MKIV TT 6. Jap. meph137
I have this problem...I used some furniture polish on them which has helped, did that after I tried to look at the mechanism, couldnt get it, felt like I was bredking the plastic, then lots 2 of the clips to reattach! doh! The furniture polish has helped quite a bit actually, its still not ideal, though 2 mecahnics have said its safe, just annoying.

suprasurrey
A little word of warning regarding swapping seat belts on ANY car. I used to work for Britax, who made seat belts, among other things. All modern seat belts have what we called a `Wobbly Man` inside them, which is a ball bearing and cage mechanism which locks the belt when rapid angular movement occurs (under heavy braking or sudden rolling). These mechanisms are set at various angles, depending on the angle of fitment to the vehicle. Two seat belts may look identical but operate at very different angles, so you could find that your belt would not lock in an impact or flip situation. Please remember that this annoying piece of webbing could well save your life, if you doubt It`s function or condition my advice would be to replace it with a new one ASAP. Sorry to harp on a bit, but I`ve seen what happens to adult crash test dummies when a seat belt fails at just 30mph - let`s just say I was so glad it was only a dummy!! Rayman
Best bet to just buy a new belt, they arnt that dear and easy to fit, plus they retract quickly and obviously work perfectly.

Nic
£50? I think A lot more than that I think. There are a lot of different part numbers for the seat belts, if you want me to check the price, pm me your VIN details.
