Do I buy an Astra VXR or a Clio & a cheap Supra?

Oh goody. I wasn't aware there were commonly electrical problems with Clios. The driver's elec window motor has failed on our daughter's Clio already, I hope the other problems you listed aren't about to follow,

How old is the car? My sister has had similar issues, both her front windows have gone and the sunroof.

The speedo thing seems to be a common problem (well after it happened to me I read about it online a lot)!

I'm guessing the other things were just because I was unlucky.

Ive got a VXR Nurburgring mate and love it. Surprisingly quick, great fun to drive, great sound (If you get a standard VXR get the Remus exhaust - lovely). Fuel economy - Ive still got that "new car" feel and so have quite a heavy foot, so with mixed driving styles but mainly motorway driving i get just over 300 miles to the tank and the tank is about £50-55. Where abouts are you in West yorkshire, if not far you are more than welcome to come take it for a spin but you will buy one when youve driven it.

Thanks for the invitation. Im based near Leeds (LS29).

I got offered a new Nurenburg for £19,000 from York Vauxhall but it is slightly beyond my price tag. I did follow one down the motorway a few weeks ago (on my way down to West Sussex) and it was gorgeous.

I went to see the Subaru earlier (http://www.waltermarks.co.uk/popup.cfm?p_n=466948&p_i=466948) and I am attracted to that (its cheaper than the VXR) but Clare thinks they are old mens cars.... so I might just end up with a VXR in the next week or 2.

I would be careful buying any new/nearly new sports car at the moment - performance car prices are plummating with the tax and petrol hikes. My 350z is worth 14-15k, I've only had it a few months but I was thinking its a fair chunk of cash to have tied up and was considering selling (trying to sell) and buying a nice NA supra and a clio. Possibly even a TT supra and a clio.

The missus then went and bought a megan diesal which I don't want to drive so don't know what to do now.

I wouldn't mind betting you pay 19k for a vxr now and in 18 months it will be worth 12 tops. Thats a lot of money to lose. Nice cars though, I was tempted when I bought the 350z.
