suprasurrey
Does anyone know why my Cobra 7928 alarm system has packed up? Worked fine leaving work but wouldn`t lock when I parked on my driveway. Changed the battery but it still won`t work, It has also immobilised the engine so I`m going nowhere until It`s sorted.
steb9780
Have you re-synchronised the fob? I think you have to hold the arm/disarm button near the car for a few seconds. Will the immobiliser not knock off if you use the little touch fob you got with it? The little fob you have to touch on that little socket on the dash (or wherever it's been installed)? suprasurrey
I have just found a loose connection to a fuse under the dash which has now turned the immobilser off, allowing the engine to start. The alarm will still not arm/disarm. I have tried pressing and holding the fob buttons, but all that happens is the arm light in the car stops flashing for a while. I guess this means that It`s ackowledged the fob command. The central locking still works on the key. I have also tried pressing in the little pin thing but no improvement. steb9780
I blew the alarm fuse the other day whilst fitting some new gauges etc. Took me an hour to find the inline fuse. I touched the two wires of the LED together when removing the gear stick surround panel. The whole lot was immobilised. One minute mate I have got the installation .pdf here from browsing the other night. I'll upload it and see if it's of any use.
steb9780
Here you go mate, I know it says 7908, but it's 7928 as well7908Fitting_Manual.pdf
suprasurrey
Here you go mate, I know it says 7908, but it's 7928 as well Thanks for your help mate, that pdf is very useful to have, much more info than the Cobra website! I`m thinking now that my loose connection may be causing a high resistance thus not allowing enough power to operate the central locking system. I`ll have a tinker tomorrow and see what happens. If all else fails I`ll go back to the guys who fitted it. If and when I get this fixed I`ll post a conclusion as it may help someone else out. Once again, thanks;)
suprasurrey
My alarm is now fixed. The problem turned out to be a high resistance crimp connector on the in line fuse. Once this was sorted I had to re-synchronise the fob as mentioned earlier. This is done by disarming the immobiliser with the pin thingy and then pressing both fob buttons for at least ten seconds. I am now a happy man:d
