Fitting Boost Gauge

Recommended Posts

Got my boost gauge today but not had time to actually fit it in the dash yet. I did have a play and connected up following the guide and pictures on http://www.mkiv.com and I'm pretty sure I connected it up to the correct pipe. However at idle the gauge read something like -0.7 bar :( Have I connected it up wrong or do I need to insert this small metal piece that is supplied to go into the end of the T-piece section (doesn't look like it's designed to come out very easily once it's in there!). Also, on mkiv.com it says to feed the vac hose through the grommet near the clutch pedal but with the yank supra having it's steering wheel on the wrong side I'm not sure where abouts this is on a J spec. Help!

ok ignore my newbie ramblings. Having never owned a turbo'd car before I'd just assumed it would be at 0 on idle. Also I'd misread the mkiv.com article, it actually says that "at light throttle 0 psi" not at idle. :stupid:

but where abouts is that grommet on a j-spec? gonna have a proper look tomorrow if I get chance...

you cant miss it its a big black rubber grommet a bit bigger than a 50 pence peice on the bulkhead (think thats what you call it)

i cut a small slit in mine and put my cables through it.

is your boost gauge an electronic one or mechanical one with vac hose in the back of boost gauge

easy to fit once you know how.i put my boost gauge in left air vent and egt i in right air vent

have fun
