KimberleyAnn
Just wondered if anyone has a RX8 as a another car, or there partner has one ect? What are your views? Thanks
Gaz6002
Handle well, but not economical at all. They drink oil and petrol.
Rayman
Cheap to insure and good value purchase really for you get for your money, they can be had for fairly cheap now. Not sure on depreciation. Dont have one by the way, just the conclusion ive come to. The reviewed pretty well tho from what i remember.

_Lynz_
My mum and dad have just got one and I drove it the other night. I think it's a really nice car for a lady, nice size, sporty looking and can go some too. I have heard that they are far from economical though but coming from a Supra you should be ok with that. Rayman
There's a subtle mod you can do to an RX8 that makes it look instantly more cool from the front, and thats move the numberplate lower on the bumper. It makes a bid difference, gives the front a more aggresive look, like the RX7.

RiceRocket
Thought they were great at first but then they went the way of the Audi TT in that everyone seemed to be buying them thus losing their uniqueness. Just had a look at prices on Autotrader and this one jumped out link Probably because of lesser options/service history. Also bear in mind that its road tax is gonna rocket up soon
jonshaw_uk
my cousin got one - looks tidy, really nuce interior but performance and fuel economy aint so good. he bought his brand new about 9 months ago with the chrome alloys and they have already had to replaced under warranty
Rayman
Looks like it's gormlessly grinning at you now. On a black its looks great, trust me. And yes RR your right about the uniqeness, a lot of women driving them too. The honda s2000 never went down this route tho.
Luxluc
A friend of mine runs a RX8 which runs a GReddy turbo kit (modified by Whifbitz). Really nice power ... approx 310 bhp without the cat ... and with that low weight, excellent ride.
stevie_b
My girlfriend had a spin in one around Thruxton recently (they use them to "warm you up" before letting you loose on the Formula 3/Formula Ford). She was impressed, but obviously only drove it for a few mins. You thinking of changing the supe for one?
JustGav
I've been out on a track in one, and I found it very disappointing for some reason, it was completely stock, but I kept feeling as though there was little bit of power that it wasn't giving me and this went all the way through the rev range. Plenty of noise but just no outward grunt and just left me wanting...

AlexM
I dont know, i think ive fallen out of love with my Supra recently Not ANOTHER relationships topic! You should be discussing this with your Supra, she'll make you see sense . (How about an RX-7? )

AlexM
Well on another hand i dont really wanna sell her because i own her, but i do need/want a second car. Does anyone know a insurance company where you can insure mutiple cars? save money? How about another Supra (in a different colour)? Worked for me! (I'm sure the point of a second car is that it's practical and economical though? oh well). I didn't find anyone that would allow me to cover two cars on one policy, I had to take a seperate one out with zero no claims - but the no claims bonus on my primary policy was considered to give me a discount.. apparently. supra_aero
(How about an RX-7? ) was going to suggest that. I always thought a rx8 was a vastly inferior rx7 (yes rx8 has 4 seats but they aren't a world better than a rx7 to be honest) But rx7 running costs are extortionate, thus I wouldn't suggest it. thats insurance/petrol/repairs and maintenance etc.
KimberleyAnn
Well........i am stunned. I just spoke to my insurance company. My policy on the supra runs out 21st July. Result........the rx8 is £800.......hmmm maybe i should have both of them? lol

They havent done the old trick of putting into the system as a Mk3 Supra or a UK spec have they? My best mate has an RX-8. It does the same mpg as the Supra, drinks oil (he says his is now on about a litre per 1000 miles, 45k on the clock), sounds like a tiny motorbike engine and I think it feels claustrophobic inside. It handles well though and is good fun through the twisties, but overall I'd not pay for one myself!
Havard
For a modern car with average performance they go through fuel like Matt H goes through women. Not on my wish list, although they do apparently grip the road like sh!t to a blanket!! H.
