SIMON LC
Just come to change me oil and noticed I have a strange sump plug.1st of all its got a rubber bung that fits over it that you have to take off to get to the 21mm (approx)head. In the centre of the plug is a strange sort of attachment which looks like can have a sensor attached to it.Is this a normal standard toyota plug or is it non standard? JustGav
Got a photo?, because it doesn't sound standard. Almost sounds like it has an oil temp sensor one in.
Chris Wilson
It's not one of those easy drain types you can put a hose onto is it?
SIMON LC
It does look like you can attach something onto it.I will get a pick tomorrow.
SimonB
Sounds like a quick drain jobbie - they have a spring loaded valve you can connect a hose up to and suck the oil out.
bignum
Sounds like a disaster waiting to happen, change it for a normal 1, there ìsn`t any wires coming off it?

bluecoup
not a stupid magnetic one ?
UltraFlynn
My old FTO had an oil temp gauge and the way Mitsubishi had wired it in was to put a sump plug on with a sensor built in and then a wire attached to the sump plug. Could be you've got an aftermarket version of that.
