dangerous brain
Especially so the Rover. I wouldn't be so fast to mock that rover. I had a 620 keep up with me once in my BPU++ supra with only a small amount of bother when I decided that 167 leptons would be a hoot. He stayed with me for over 20 miles as well and actually ended up overtaking me!!

dangerous brain
Seriously there are some very very very fast turbo charged rovers about. The ones that don't look up to much are the biggest surprise. Remember in its day the SD1 was top of its field.

That car was proper quick, but the torque steer was lethal.....
Wez
Rover Turbos can be very quick
merckx
I wouldn't be so fast to mock that rover. My sister had one, it ended up blowing a cylinder head gasket which I replaced. Remember in its day the SD1 was top of its field. My brother had a 3500 V8 and my dad had a 2600 straight six , I remember Tom Walkinshaw racing them. Guest dangerousandy
Never mind all them.... what about the green Rover 100 lurking in one of the photos of the MR2? my sisters car! I have had 68 motors since I was 14, some good, some bad but I never stooped low enough to own a Rover 100!!
Chris Wilson
my sisters car! I have had 68 motors since I was 14, some good, some bad but I never stooped low enough to own a Rover 100!! I had a Rover 110, a lovely old girl. Then a 3 litre coupe, then a 3.5 coupe. The 3 litre straight six was a much nicer engine, IMO. Also had a Lea Francis 14 Light (my first car) and several Van Den Plas models, from 4 litre R to Princess 1100, then finally a Daimler Double Six SWB V den P, which nearly bankrupted me with the fuel and repair bills, what a total lemon of thing those V12's were. No idea where any of them are, probably a refrigerator or a tin can now. I'd LIKE a Lancia Monte Carlo with zero rust, or a similar Gamma coupe (right..), or a Maserati Sebring / 3500GT, or a P800ES Volvo. Got a strange hankering for a Bentley Continental R or T, as well, which worries me, both financially and sanity wise.
