Whitesupraboy2
My 13 yr old step sister's PC is very old and she always been in to PC's so my mum said can you look for a bargain PC around £400 max as she had stopped using the PC as it was so slow she couldnt be bothered, they knew it was bad as she is a straight A* student and always tries. Anyway as she is into PC's i came up with the idea of building the PC with her so she gets to learn about them. So she is really excited now. What she will be using it for mostly is playing the sims, internet so I need to get it up to a half decent spec for the games. So if anybody is selling maybe a 2nd hand graphics card with box & CD that is still good but they have upgraded to the latest card please post. Maybe a hard drive you have never used etc... please feel free to post part and price Also post of any good deals you know on parts. As i need to get it all monitor, wireless keyboard / mouse, case etc...

michael
I'd just buy one of these and save myself the hassle... http://www.aria.co.uk/SuperSpecials/Other+products/Arianet+Value+2800+Intel+PC+?productId=31975 or: http://www.aria.co.uk/SuperSpecials/Other+products/Gateway+EMachines+E4231+PC+with+Vista+?productId=32113 And extra 1GB of their £7.95 RAM, a cheap SIMS friendly graphics card and then just the monitor and keyboard etc to add... and maybe a 2nd HDD... OK so that's the price tripled then

Its not just about the money but keeping the interest in PC's and helping her, she wants to build it. However those PC's are bloody bargains! Bobbeh
Is that right? A brand new PC WITH VISTA for £139? I can hardly believe it. Funny thing is tho is that model only comes with 512 meg of RAM.. so will it actually run VISTA at all? Nevertheless, they are very good prices for a starter PC and with an OS. Whitesupraboy2
Benyon, bit too old mate IMI - looking at a 22" monitor now. Right guys need your help with this. I dont know what my best options are. Im going for a 22" monitor now. She has a very poor 15" TV (one of the early LCD's so very poor viewing angles) so I want to make her PC capable of watching TV. So I either need a graphics card with TV in or a TV card, any recommendations, are on a budget here. Recording isnt a priority but being able to watch in full picture is. Also she has a freeview box, I dont know if cards coem with this built in yet or not, but ideally, she can turn the TV channel over still by the freeview box.
