Kevin Huntley
Just wondering if there is any reason why Jap and UK seats aren't interchangable? I may be wrong here but I know the UK seats are heated and the Jap ones are not but are there any other differences? or are they basicaly the same seat and runners? Are the electric connectors the same? Cheers Kevin
Suprash
Can anyone shed any light on this as this is something Im interested in. Im not sure if mine had a drivers electric seat in the first place, probably not if they fitted leather Recaro in th front. But would there be anyway of fitting UK heated seats, if not than I dont mind sticking with my big comfy wrap around ones at the moment, but would like to try and upgarde the extras. Steve W
ASH, Don't get me wrong, I love the Leather seats in mine (GZ), BUT, they're not a patch on the (std) Recaros I had in my RS ! ! They were actually MORE comfortable on long journeys AND much more 'body-controlling' during sharp/high-speed cornering. I already find I'm sliding off the seat a bit, AND I'M NOT REALLY USED TO THE HANDLING YET ! ! If High-Speed cornering is your thing - RECAROS. (Personally, I've done with that bit - so leather/electric suits fine now) Steve.
Guest Martin F
Unfortunately the non-Recaro seats in the MKIV are a bit poor for sharp cornering. In fact the ones in the MKIII are actually better...IMHO
Need4Speed
I can recommend a full harness seat belt if you really want to get nailed into the seat. You can then spend more time driving the car instead of leaning on the steering wheel just to stop yourself slididing around in the seat. Steve W
slididing John, is that like a SLIDE with a manhole cover mid-corner ? ? (or is that where the auto' changed up just at the wrong moment ?) BUT SERIOUSLY, your right John, if the seat lets you slide you tend to stop youself with the wheel which in turn makes you "thrupenny-bit" when trying to corner smoothly. DIDN'T have that with the Recaros - could JUST use the wheel to steer - think that's better (probably same with 5-point). Steve.
Need4Speed
Well, that'll teach me to post messages after a few beers. I must try to look at this site before 11pm!
