suprattgaz
Well no wonder I had lost boost on no 2.....has anyone seen it shear completely off like this? I had expected to find blade missing, but considering the shaft still spins freely, what on earth would have made them do this????

Tricky-Ricky
Thats definitely gone for an excursion down the exhaust, as for wategates yes the both have them, but they are fundamentally different, the first turbo has a normal type in that it dumps boost from the turbine housing, the second has the dump aperture after the turbine housing to allow the pre spoll control. JustGav
You probably find one of the blades let go under boost and hit the other ones, at high turbine RPMs you would be amazed how much damage takes place. If you are fully decat the car behind you probably had a few turbine chips , if not pull your cat off and shake it out
