tooquicktostop
Collecting my car from Watford tomorrow, better not get stuck in this, with the price of oil hitting $140 today its unlikely to have any effect at all except to ruin thousands of peoples weekend stuck in traffic
PJ
For those without Facebook The lorry drivers started it, they stood up and made themselves heard. Now the fishermen are making themselves heard. It time for the daily driver/commuter to join in and help. This is a "FUEL PROTEST" for everyone. Dads, mums, friends, lorrys drivers, fishermen and pilots. Everyone is welcome. If we shut the M-25 down we will get the attention we need and make ourselves heard. WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH OF STUPID FUEL PRICES. AS A NATION STAND UP AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. STOP MOANING ABOUT IT AND ACTUALLY HELP OUT. The protest is a peaceful event which will take pace on the M25. Due to laws the traffic must keep flowing. Do not use the hardshoulder and no dangerous driving. This is a protest not a riot. No one can be held responsible for other peoples actions during the protest but themselves. The convoy will meet at 11.00am at South Mimms (a1(m)) (EN63QQ) At 11.30am the convoy will head onto the M25 (Junction 23) heading towards the M1 (Junction 21). At this point it will head towards the M4 (Junction 15). Remember to keep the pace to 40mph. (Unless the variable speed limits state to drive slower). In an emergency please let emergency vehicles past. At this point the convoy can disperse or head into central London. Passengers using radios/walkie talkies set the station to 4. PRINT OFF AND PUT IN YOUR WINDOW! http://www.cruise-herts.net/fueltax/fueltax.doc The Police have been informed by writting to make this protest as peaceful as possible. We also now have a magazine feature! They will be attending on the day! Remember to bring water and food in the car with you! We don't want people going thirsty or hungry! colsoop
Well this thread pretty much sums up why we get screwed in britain. People are going out of their way to make stand albeit a small no of them. And others are just taking the mickey. More worried about how it affects their day rather than the bigger picture.

I'm not worried in the slightest, but I do wonder if the Government will notice this attempt?
Supranature
The price of oil is not in Governmental control............................................calling Sheik Ali Baba, will this protest grab your attention.. On a taxation note, we are not taxed on fuel THAT much more than the rest of the EU. If Mr brown/ Darling reduce fuel taxation they would just have to get it elsewhere, ie. Road Tax, Income Tax, cigs, tobacco, etc. Or, just shut a few hospital wings.....education.....schools. This is one of the few taxes we are in control of, ie. use your car less. Nobody likes the price of fuel at the mo, £1 a litre now seems a bargain! However, there are several threads regarding the crisis (price), and the conclusion is that it is "other" external forces. Emailing your MP's to question the legality of VAT on the duty would be a start, expand that to all fuel not just the motion lotion. These protests and go slows will not lower the barrel price of oil. Fuel is expensive for different reasons than in 2000 when the protests did work (and had my support). Konrad
The price of oil is not in Governmental control............................................calling Sheik Ali Baba, will this protest grab your attention.. You would rather have to call those as#@$$les from Wall Street and ask them why they are using hedge funds to buy stupid amount of oil for stupid amount of money. You also forgot, that rest of Europe is already including road tax in price of fuel and if I remember correctly it is only Netherlands, where fuel is more expensive than in UK. Epic
I agree with what they are doing on the protest by i dont think im going to join in... cant afford the petrol
wkdboi2005
Most of you do not realise that because fuel is going through the roof, food, gas, electric. Is all going up due to the cost of oil. Those of you that do support these protest actions please take a look at http://www.demodomain.org.uk and sign up on the forums their. All action will be discussed on their. lexsum
so what's the solution invade the suppliers and take it (steal it) for free? not going to happen. the solution is to increase competition (US and others sitting on reserves start pumping) or kill the demand (alternative energy)
