Matt H
For nearly 8000 posts I've not had a spell checker function on this site. Now when i type away in here i get a "MS Word" style red squiggle under words spelt incorrectly. how odd, but very useful. never bothered with spell checking before as it would be a pain to copy and paste into word then back in but this is v.good Edit to say: could this be something to do with the fact that I'm using Firefox for the first time today instead of internet explorer? Maybe it's because you're special mummy says so! Firefox has a built in spell checker Without it id be lost Ah, thought it might be. How good is that! Why on earth hasn't IE got it? Matt H
How does Firefox know when to initiate it? does it occur anytime you type something? doesn't do it in Google search? And why doesn't it recognise the word "spelt"?! Ah recognise wants a "Z" too. Must be an American spell checker. Surely spelt is in the American English language though?! Install the british dictionary There are a few plugins I like, such as IE tab which allows you to swap rendering engines for those pesky IE based websites. Adblock plus, and foxlingo is another good one

Matt H
Hmm, maybe this should be pointed out to certain members What is it like with "your" and "you're"? Do you mean the Micheal Plug in? Not sure if Firefox could compete so probably hasn't bothered releasing anything. But seriously, there is no grammar checker
Matt H
So I've downloaded some add-ons How do i get them to run now? like the new theme and the UK spell check? OhGod
Yes, it's a very handy feature. As for when it turns on, it's typically for multi-line input fields, although you can right click single-line ones (like google search box) and select 'check spelling'.
