1) he is 22

2) its a supra

3) 3ltr engine

4) sports car

5) male driver

these are the ingredients that make an ugly insurance soup [sAD][/sAD]

I was 21 when I got my SZ and 22 when I got my RZ there was no difference in insurance price. Plus was a lot cheaper than I was expecting. Insurance on a scooby is going to be much higher

Well im 21 and i pay £1700 fully comp for my '98 vvti TT...

I was 19 when i first bought a Supra which was an n/a and that was quite dear, it came to...£3280 tpft.

The year after i then paid £1700 tpft. I upgraded to the TT and was the same price but is FULLY COMP! How does that work?

A TT being cheaper than an n/a?!

I would go and get some more quotes on a Supra if I were him, for an imported Japanese sports car it seems to generally be the most reasonable to insure. Definitely an n/a if it's his first RWD experience though! Failing that how about an S14/MR2?

Impreza/Evo are mental to insure wherever you go, if you can get cover at all..

get your friend to give A Plan a call on 01635874646, they are in Thatcham. They were by far the best quote i had for my uk impreza and supra TT. They also do not care if a supra is uk spec or import. worth a try, but at his age he has to expect to pay a high premium.

:shock::faint::shock::faint:

Quick, someone get me a glass of water - the sum of £3280 and £1700 together is just about the same total amount that I have paid on all of my car insurance policies since aged 19 (35 now:innocent:).

I am so pleased my first car had 1300cc's instead of 3000:D

I had to pay £1700 for the first year of insurance on my 1.2 Punto at 19, and about £1200 for the following year - doesn't make the Supra insurance at that age seem that bad!
