Gerry
Hi, usually stay away overnight half a dozen times during the year and have always just booked a local Travelodge. Habit really, but at around £49.00 you know exactly what you are getting and they are usually near motorways etc. On Sat before Japshow we decided to stay near the place rather than get up at sillyo'clock on Sunday, Travelodge were booked so booked online at Express by Holiday Inn (J15 M1). £51.00 for the room and much better than TL. Nice bar and big lounge, nicer rooms, conti breaky included. Will be looking for them again (unless I can catch one of the "cheapy" TL rooms you can sometimes get. PS. that one also does cheaper packages including entry to Pod for the major events.
Daston
hmm may look into that one for next time! we normally use the one on the toddington services (as its just over the road)
Gerry
used that one before... The other advantage to the M1 one is that you can hear all the nutters coming off the M1 and onto the A45. takes about 40 minutes to Pod. didn't know until morning, but the Envy boys stayed there along with their cars (they were tucked away so didn't see them until we were leaving)- sounded nice
GeordieSteve
Swear by Premier Inn as well. Usually use them when working away. Worth a look
Angarak
The best TL I've stayed in is at Londons Docklands, the worst by far was in Norwich. Best hotel I've stayed in was a Ramada Jarvis in Swansea - think it was £50/room and it was amazing - sky tv, wet room with a really powerful shower, big rooms, free breakfast with these really nice little tarts (the edible type!).
