Insurance Question

Swapped my insurance to the Supra N/A Auto from the Impreza and they told me they will have to insure it as a UK Turbo :Pling:

The Supra is - JZA80

Engine - 2JZ-GE

I know it doesn't have turbo's or a manual gearbox despite them asking me several times on the phone

Now I'm paying the premium for a UK TT

Surely my insurance is already invalid as the car is not what they have insured it as ???

Any ideas much appreciated

I would want something in writing from them which states they are aware its a auto NA import and not a UK car. To be honest I think you will find that a UK car, albeit a turbo is cheaper to insure any an import. Even if its an NA

Very VERY suspect. Don't leave it like that without documented proof of acceptance as stated by robin. Insurers will wiggle out of paying if they can, and this would certainly give them grounds to wiggle out if you were to have an accident.

It sounds like the person you spoke to didn't understand the computer system. Chances are the supra SZ auto is on their system, but not (obvious to us) as a UK car. I'd call them again and ask them to look for an SZ supra. Clearly state that it's an imported car.

Until you get something in writing from them, write down the time and date of all phone calls with them. If you were to have a prang before the paperwork reaches you, it gives you some kind of come-back.
