Kranz Posted April 6, 2009 Share Posted April 6, 2009 The advantage of removing rotating mass off the engine & drivetrain is that in effect it is like removing the same amount of mass from the car x the gear ratio. It only gives faster acceleration, not more power So for a prop it will be the mass x the diff ratio. For the flywheel it will be the mass x the total gear ratio, so the effect in 1st will be MUCH more then the effect in 6th. For the best effect lighten the engine rotating components first (crank, flywheel & clutch), then the items pre-differential, then the itmes post differential (including wheels & tyres) and finally the body.
