Just Gone Ape!

Recommended Posts

Went on a Go Ape high rope adventure in Delamere Forest today as a work "team building" exercise. Don't mind admitting I was sh*tting myself all the way round, I'm not good with heights to say the least!!!! But I finished the course (doubt i'll be able to walk in the morning). Anyone else been on one of these, if so where you scared too:d

Top Tip:

If you are doing an image search on Google for GoApe make sure you don't accidentally miss out the letter O

Like a female friend of Suprash did! :D

Blimey. My ring just automatically shrunk up deep into my buttocks after doing that.

Good tip - don't look.

Dragging this kicking and screaming back on topic...

Yes, I' went on one a few years back and have been meaning to go back and do it again ever since. I too and mildly terrified of heights but for some reason I could just get on and do the whole GoApe thing. I did have a minor pants-soiling monent when I realised I'd accidentally unclipped both safety lines at the same time.

I'd recommend it as a group activity. :)

Have not done one of the outdoor courses but did have a go on the indoor assault course at Star City.

That is a long drop to the floor and I nearly sh1t myself on that, terrified of heights, but if I didn't try I would have kicked myself for not having a go.

Well done Mrs H for doing it!;)

i went to nottingham forest to do it last year. heights scare the crappy's out of me, still managed to do most of it though :) bailled out at the last two, but i think it was more to do with the craving i had for some nicotine :)

Yeah I chickened out of the last zip jump into the net on the extreme site :scared: it wasn't so much the leap of faith, but the small rungs of the ladder that went to the second level of podium! I did love the zip slides though!

If I hear any more complaints about aching muscles then I am going to scream. Glad you faced your fears dear!!

Now, where's my breakfast??:D

I'd like to see the state of you after a full day physical exertion, you break out in a sweat contemplating exercise

I'm going next Saturday! I'm not too good with heights either but apparently you get a harness... don't you (!)...:)

Yes, but the instructors are not in the trees with you after the first training site, so you are responsible for your own safety system clipping and unclipping between each obstacle! Not trying to scare you, but the disclaimer that you have to sign does say that three people have fallen due to not re-connecting to the safety system! Hence I checked, double checked and triple checked each time:d
