Homer
Okay, this is a bit of a strange one. A TT auto shell is getting an NA 5spd transplant. Can anyone see any problems with the following: - The engine loom and ECU is NA, can this plug directly into the dash/interior loom without any adverse consqences? - Is the fuel ECU, supply, etc the same between the two? - Is the alternator the same between the two engines? - Will the auto dash wiring still work with an manual insrument cluster? - Is the TT fusebox the same as the NA? I believe it's all okay, but any input is much appreciated Further questions might pop up below.
bromy
Daryl, miko_supra may well be able to answer a few of those questions.
turbonut
Hi Darrryl I know it sounds a bit daft but I have an electronic version of the supra manual which covers both TT and NA. As it includes stats and diagrams, if you trawl through the info you may find some useful stuff ie: fuse boxes and ECU's etc?? If you need any more NA engine pics, just give me a shout Lx
miko_supra
The only time alternators are different is on autos and manuals as far as im aware. With the auto box engine alternator kicking out a higher current. The fuse boxes in an n/a and a TT are different and i believe the only difference is to do with the fueling which will answer your other question... The fuel pumps and the fuel ECU's are the same in the TT and N/A, but the n/a only has one fuel injection relay where as the TT has two. Don't know about the instrument cluster. I would have thought so and there's no harm in trying as the connections are the same. Just make sure you have one from an N/A or the rev counter wont work. Hope this helps
