UltraFlynn
...subscribed... Love to know what the issue is. Those auto boxes are still magic to me. Good luck getting it sorted.

Class One
Who transplanted the engine and transmission from the donor car to this one? What was your brief to them?
Pete
Who transplanted the engine and transmission from the donor car to this one? What was your brief to them? Whatever the brief, you wouldn't have expected the car to be released in that condition. I guess it depends if it manifested itself straight away. If it were me I'd have turned right around or stopped for the RAC to tow it back the garage for fear of further damage being caused.
Matt H
Who transplanted the engine and transmission from the donor car to this one? What was your brief to them? Its been a while Doug. My brief was: Transplant everything from one car to the other and F"ck it up royally seriously, what sort of question is that
Class One
Simple question Matt. Obviously taken the wrong way. Good luck with diagnosing your problem (with the car).
paul mac
Matt not sure about the second gearboxy type issue (maybe fluid level) but the rough running sounds exactly the same as mine when i got it sprayed, my car was started up loads of times to just move it in and out of the garage and eventually it shat its plugs up simple as, it did this twice while in and out of the garage

It does seem to be something like that but then again i dont know. turned her over today and seemed to be ideling fine aside from the missing issue
Wez
Save yourself a load of grief and just hand it back to them. Dont accept it until its right otherwise it will cost you to send it elsewhere.

TLicense
I totally agree with you Matt, and it's the reason why I do all the work on my car myself. I also agree with Wez. Now that you've paid them, then you should take it back to them until it's sorted.
Scott
Wait, is this car still an auto? Nothing against auto, i just thought it would have been changed to manual during the near 100k spent on it. I would hate to waste that sort of money on a car. Hopefully just a simple fix, surely its down to who done the transfer though? Shouldn't have to pay any more money to get it sorted. I realise how frustrated you must be though.

Dont accept it until its right otherwise it will cost you to send it elsewhere. I agree mate, but my faith has dwindled, on the flip side, might the grief be saved if i jsut took it else where and cut my losses? There is also another problem. Chris who owned Hyper Sports and Racing Ltd has sold the company and pretty much done a runner. The company is now apparantly a new entity owned by Paul; (one of the mechanics from Hyper) Hyper Sports and Racing UK Ltd. I totally agree with you Matt, and it's the reason why I do all the work on my car myself. I also agree with Wez. Now that you've paid them, then you should take it back to them until it's sorted. Wish i was as talented with mechanics as you Tony.

Scotttttt, Manual is a preferance not a superiority. I'm tempted by a 6speed conversion, but then again i love the auto box. Its more to go wrong and i dont know who i would trust to have it done anyway. Waste is how you define it. Yes there has been alot of money wasted, none of it my choice or desire. If you read anything to do with my car then you will see that half the the money i have spent i never planned to spend. I've been burnt many a time, but you obviously take please in that. As for the rest of the money that has gone into the car that i wanted to spend. Worth every penny and i'd spend it again tomorrow in an instant. I love the car, so i had to revive it each time the sh!t hit the fan

Homer
Who was your contract with Matt? If it was with Hyper sport "the company" then get them to pick up the car, take it back to their workshop and fix the problem at their cost. If it turns out to be an issue with the TC/box due to shock damage then you will obviously have to pay, but if it's due to lack of oil/basic prep then the person/company you paid for the installation work are responsible. From your description it sounds like the box didn't have enough oil, causing TC overheat and failure; or the TC/box had been damaged in the previous crash - which judging by the damage isn't unlikely. Yeah the contract was with Hyper Sports and Racing, but apprantly Hyper Sports and racing doesnt exist anymore. Its now Hyper Sports and Racing UK. I'd happily pay if its shock damage.. and i know this is going to sound deflamatory but after everything... i dont know if i'd even trust a diagnostic, after all, as said by the new company, they are doing me a favour by looking at the car at all because its a new company! I was honestly meaning to ask if auto was your preference during all your spending. I understand the love you have for the car and i in no way take pleasure from what has happened to you throughout your supra "experience". Forget all the banter in the other thread(s) i say it all with tongue in cheek. Now, back to the matter at hand. I am no expert in this but as far as i know the 6spd would be the least likely to fook up during your build. I know things can go wrong with anything but the getrag box is renound for not being the first. Edit: While i was typing that the cat came along and lifted my last piece of chocolate off my leg. I never even noticed!! little barsteward!
Matt H
So they added UK to the name and washed there hands of any responsibility. Technicaly yes, but Morrally No, paul said he would do the work on the car in between paying jobs and hes has done all that has needed to be done appart from a number of things that he didnt get round to doing before i had to take the car away last night to get my VIC test done today. namely the Defi gauges and the AFR gauge. I was expecting to drive away sorted but its not the case. I'm just worried about a number of things, and one is whether now the simple things are done, whether this big thing would be the nail in the coffin

It makes no odds if they changed their name, if it's a partnership, or limited company the directors take on the responsibilty of previous contracts. They're a garage that values their reputation (they even have/had a banner here, at some point). If the contract was with the company then you should have no issue, regardless of the company name or director/owner. Legally they must honour the agreement you have made with them provided it was agreed with said owner/director. otherwise you'll be looking at small claims if they've b*ggered your install. BTW, did your agree that they check over/service the engine and box prior to the cars release? It would have gone through an incredible amount of G-forces it was never designed for in the accident, it should have had a strip and check before reinstallation either way, was this agreed with the garage? Matt H
I am no expert in this but as far as i know the 6spd would be the least likely to fook up during your build. The box itself is great yes, but i'm told (and you can take this with a pinch of salt as Turbo fit told me) that there is a bit of effort to mount the box as it sits differently through the tunnel. Then there is the wiring, dash and the loom issues.
Jezz
The box itself is great yes, but i'm told (and you can take this with a pinch of salt as Turbo fit told me) that there is a bit of effort to mount the box as it sits differently through the tunnel. Then there is the wiring, dash and the loom issues. True in patches. The 6 speed box mounts pretty much the same as the auto box. Its the shifter that sits higher, so a manual transmission tunnel top has to be installed. The rest of it (wiring ect) is easy peasy. Its just a couple of plugs on the auto loom need adapting to fit the 6 speed box, not a loom out job. That car would be a holy grail if it was a 6 speed!
