Mariusz
I have decided that i am finally going turbo. Unfortunately my budget will not stretch to a 6spd TT so i may single turbo my 5 spd n/a. I was wanting you guys with experience to share it with me. What turbo kits you fitted? Did you need to uprate clutch? What sort of prices did you all pay? What bhp did you achieve after the conversion? I have used the search button lol! Thanks guys.
AlexM
Why go N/A-T and not N/A - TT conversion? It'll cost less! I'm no expert but I believe a stock 5spd box will be fine with a standard TT.
Guigsy
5 speed is apparently ok with a better clutch but a bit risky if your doing bpu. but peoples results seem to vary. From what ive seen some say the box will get mashed but iv never seen any posts on here regarding it. Others have been running the 5 speed on bpu power for a while. Do NA-T's make more power than a bpu TT? if so and they are running the 5 speed theres your answer.

RobSheffield
Go for a TT swap and keep the 5 speed for now, but it wont take BPU power. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=148326 decent TT swap is cheaper than trying to single the NA properly (it can be done cheap, but you get what you pay for. The NA-T will only make stock TT-BPU power anyway.
Nicolai
I would go TT but may end up going single anyway after that? I think you have a bit of reading to do. Singleling a NA will give a lot less power than singleling a TT. For example I believe NA-T route give you max 350hp. Single route on a TT can go from 450 to A LOT. couv3z
For example I believe NA-T route give you max 350hp. . wot you been smoking?? Jen's N/a-T was 500bbp
Nicolai
wot you been smoking?? Jen's N/a-T was 500bbp So you would recommend him going the NA-T route for the most power at lowest cost and potential? And btw I live in Holland I can smoke whatever i want
couv3z
I live in Holland I can smoke whatever i want very true i can do that here to, just behind close doors;) So you would recommend him going the NA-T route for the most power at lowest cost and potential? now i didn't say that, was correcting your mis leading post of 350 max on a Na/t:blink:
Franko
well depends what turbo pack you get mate, a tubo which produces max 350 bhp will produce 350. Bigger turbos make bigger power

jevansio
Kenny, Col is selling a bonefide TT6 for £6k, sell yours, add the money you would spend doing the conversion & hey presto
Luxluc
I think you always find nice TT set ups which had to go during single conversion. My Euro-spec TT parts have been left at Whifbitz after going single ... I think you can get some nice parts at low costs out there.

jevansio
Will pm him mate! All I'm thinking is with all these conversions you'll be spending as much & you'll still be left with a 5sp box. I know you love your car but you can remove the wheels you've just had done and put them on another one

miko_supra
you can pick up 5 speed boxes for a couple of hundred quid so when it goes pop just buy a new one. Im running a TT through a 5 speed with no issues yet. A n/a-t will produce more torque than a n/a-tt, which is what will kill the box. N/A-t will set you back around 4k+ N/a-tt will set you back around 2-3K
