These are pretty good on fuel! I was driving a black one today. The only thing I dont like about them is the rear visability - not good!!!

I bought myself a new Leon Tdi FR last September and am very happy with it. Seriously quick little car and averages out around 42mpg. A few issues you may find:

Dpf filter problems

Dashboard rattles

Front window seals

Ride is very firm on 18'' wheels

Bluetooth is not compatable with all phones.

These are obviously the exception rather than the norm. I have had no problems at all with mine. Leather is also available from the factory. Thread here

Thanks for the info and the link Gordon

I'll ask about the leather upgrade but think it could be quite exspensive from the dealer compared to a guy i know who did my supra :)

My brother in law has a red FR Leon and I can't say I'm too impressed. Horrid windscreen wipers and little A pillar windows. Reminds me of a mini MPV.

I am not a fan.

He spends an awful lot of time talking about the Bluetooth connectivity and iPod integration and no time at all talking about the handling, looks or performance. Something is wrong there.

Funny as i think the wipers tucked out the way is a good idea :) and out of most of the contenders in this sector think it looks pretty good and not silly money.

Im more concerned about quality and reliabilty, i'll check out the handling etc on the test drive :D

one of my mates bought an tdi FR new, quick car, but think his ecu packed up on him after about 5000 miles! Although i don't think that would put me off as it was all replaced and sorted under warranty

Cheers, somewhat worrying on a new car ! but like you say if its got warranty then shouldnt be an issue and hopefully was a 1 off

Had my test drive yesterday and will take delivery of a Black Leon sport on the 1st of July.

Quite impressed with it and look forward to getting over 40 mpg for the 1st time since i started driving :D

Apparently there chippable to 185 bhp but goes pretty well in its stock form :)

Good choice that - I have a black one as well :)

Just a quick word about bodykits - I have seen 4 or 5 Leons with the factory BTCC bodykit and the fit on the rear bumper was terrible on all of them, and all in the same place on the car.

If you are thinking of the factory option have a look at one fitted before you commit.

That aside, enjoy the car - they are great fun:)

Thanks for the heads up on the BTCC kit, i'll wait till i pick the car up before i buy anything for it :)

Looking forward to smoking around in it knowing it'll halve if not more my fuel bill :)
