cheekymonkey
Hey all I've been performing some major surgery on my MoTec'd Supra reverting it back to stock. Engine wiring loom is soldered back together again and she does start, however she stalls after a few seconds of the idle speed dropping. The only thing that I believe is wrong at this stage is that I haven't got the stock MAP sensor connected up yet. Could this be the cause of my issue? JustGav
Does the car have a MAF? Surely without the MAP sensor it won't be able to control the fuelling.

Well hopefully that's the issue then! There's me thinking the MAP sensor would only be important on boost but you're quite right.
cheekymonkey
Erm just following on from this - I have a 3bar GM MAP sensor that was being used by the Motec. Can I use this sensor with the stock ECU or will the voltage range be different?
Alex
You need to use the stock one.
JustGav
You need to use the stock one. As alex has said, if you are running a stock ecu it will be expecting voltages between a certain range and you will need to use the stock sensor or something that provides the same reading at the same pressure. Chris Wilson
Are you flogging the Motec ECU?
