mikeyb10supra
Guys ive just taken delivery of a UK spec fuel pump and was assured this would drop straight into my j-spec. On closer inspection the electrical connection is clearly very different and I am wondering if this is correct. Please see attached pic. Notice the j-spec pump on the left and the UK spec on the right. The male to female clip on the j-spec is perfect fit, but there seems to be different connecters on the UK spec pump ie the two thread fittings?? I this correct? and if so, what is the best way to connect things up? Tricky-Ricky
Just crimp or solder some ring terminals to the wire.

Hi Ricky This was the conclusion I came to as well....and I take it they will be safe if they are setup like this?? ie no ingnition in the tank or anything crazy like that? Tricky-Ricky
They will be fine mate, most pumps have the connectors open to the tank contents, surprisingly petrol does not conduct electricity very well, however make sure the connections are not loose, as if the tank is pretty empty, as sparks and vapour are an instant:bang:
