Scott
Was out getting the service on my car started and while waiting on the oil to drain i took of the spark plug cover. I noticed that the coilpacks are screwed in so started to undo the screws. Turns out 3 or 4 of them are rounded off and i have no idea how to get them out. I was thinking of taking my dremmel out and puting a notch in for a plain screwdriver but thought i would ask on here first. Who the hell decided hex screws would be good for the sparky cover and yet posi drive screws would do for the coil packs! Also, do i need to buy special screws for the job or could i just get some stainless hex bolts that are the same thread? Any help appreciated
RobSheffield
IIRC each pair of coil packs is held in by a 10mm hex head Are the posi screws to hold each coil pack to the bracket?
Scott
Not really sure mate, i'm saying coil pack as thats what i think it is (the thing that clips onto the top of the spark plug) There are 2 screws holding each of them onto the top of the head/bracket? I would have thought hex screws would have made MUCH more sense because of the chances of rounding them off.
RobSheffield
I only know as i removed mine last weekend, and there were definitely 2 hex heads holding each of the coil pack pairs into place. Its likely that you can remove each pack from the bracket using those screws.

I'll be able to take them out noah style Phew, saved me a lot of grief there buddy. That way i can get a look at the screws while they are out!
