Lionel
Hi Guys, I really need your help. I have UK spec TT, but it feels so slow. 2nd turbo doesn't kick in at all. One more thing that I'm concern of is , that my boost gauge shows -6 bar on idle. And then i push the full throttle it goes to 0,5 bar. Can someone tell me what is wrong with it? Thanks. The negative pressure is normal as the engine is sucking the air in when it's at idle, when the turbo's are in action this will change to a positive pressure as the air is forced into the engine by the turbo's. Lionel
But can negative pressure be so big? it's -6 bar.
miko_supra
didnt know you could get a gauge that reads to -6bar
Jim_1979
It'll be -0.6 mate. Not -6bar! lol Sounds ok apart from the no second turbo. Like other said a split hose or other issue. Do a search on the forum though mate. I had a problem with a sticking EGBV actuator and after alot of reading/searching, managed to sort it all out. Scoboblio
Have a read of this thread here in the FAQs; http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=35926 Explains a bit about how the twin turbo system works, may be a good place to start diagnosing a problem. Good luck!
mikeyb10supra
yep as discussed if vaccum pressure was 6bar...I would imagine all your intercooler hoses if rubber would crimp up, I would say boost leak as well, mosy reduced boost levels are due to some sort of leak
Tricky-Ricky
A boost gauge usually reads in bar or Kg cm and millibar for vacuum, a healthy engine will read around 18-20 millibar depression.

Lionel
Changed most of the hoses, found a screw in one, that was completely blocking one of the hoses. Then I've tried, I've got my 2nd turbo back!!!! It kicked in only for one time , but that's a start. Will go and check other things as well.
