scooby_doo_do
Hi, i had my passenger airbag removed (To allow access for a 8" alpine TV) a little while back. Thing is does anyone know what your suppose to do with the airbag ? Are you supopose to have it diffused or something ? Or can i take it to the salvage yard ? I don't think i can just put it in the bin ! Thanks.. Craig. MKIV TT 6...
paulrenn
Just keep it, if you sell the car you can remove your expensive TV stuff and refit, and use it as a selling point
scooby_doo_do
I would do, but i'm sure that things not safe sitting in the garage...... Should move it out of the way of the gas pipes etc... Maybe i'll have a bonfire and burn it ? (I wonder if it will go bang ?) paulrenn
Well, it's designed to go off in your face so it can't be that dangerous, can it? Just keep it in a box...a big box, in case it decides to self-inflate. If you are gonna trash it, I'll have it as a spare (can't help but collect excess junk...) Digsy
Assuming you're not on a big wind-up here... It should be farily safe just sat in your garage. Don't forget that the proper place for it is about two feet away from your passenger's face, so they shouldn't be prone to just going off willy-nilly. Having said that, I would keep it away from any sources of heat and electricity. When all's said and done its an explosive device, so treat it with respect
scooby_doo_do
Who ever wants it can have it, The top part (The plastic bit of dash has been removed)... I hate to say this but my Mum's making me clear the garage out of all my supra parts (two front seats, gear knob, samco boost tubing (Blue) Set of supra mkiv wheels + tyres, boot cover, tool kit etc etc) ... Apparently i've been told these things go off like grenades.. And it has been known for people to loose arms messing about with them.. When its in the car its screwed down to the metal and can only blow out in one direction. When its not, i suppose it can blow where ever it wants too.. Don't know how easily set off they are mind you.... :-) Craig. MKIV TT 6.
paulrenn
OK mate, if we can hook up sometime around 3rd weekend of next month, I'd be happy to relieve you of that, and maybe some other stuff... What sort of wheels are they? Stock MKIV? For TT model I presume? What year, and condition are they in? The samco hose and tool kit I'd also be interested in, well and why not the boot cover too...LOL...I think someone was looking for one of those recently tho? Drop me a private message or email and we could chat about it if you're interested
