gordy07
I might be being paranoid but when i came back from a drive today as always i give a wee rev as i pull into the drive. But this time the engine didnt sound the same:( When i rev it from idle the fan seems to get louder and sounds like i was revving a big shogun or landcruiser or something. I hope someone knows what im talking about and can help:Pling:
bluecoup
erm its hotter and the viscous fan coupling is tighter giving more fan , maybe ?
Jake
Check to see if the viscous coupling has seized. When the engine is turned off you should be able to rotate the fan fairly freely.
gordy07
Im just going out to check if the fan goes freely when switched off and then il start her up now its cold. I will post back soon, thanks for the advice
gordy07
Right ok done that, the fan moves fairly freely when off although there is resistance against the movement but its not solid:) When i started her up it was fine the noise has gone. But i only drove about 7miles today and it wasnt even that hot(bout 16c). Hopefully its sorted but im not convinced:confused:
