SupraT61
Here's the air box i made from the stock box, I'm thinking now it could be to restrictive Iv got a t61 that I want running at 1.4 bar Anybody else got any views? This pic was taken before my engine bay was cleaned

SupraT61
OK, i can post some progress pics if anyone's interested, I used 4" drain pipe it was a ball ache to make though wondering if i should cut an extra hole in the box as well as the two stock feeds

TurboBrett
you could take it out for a spin without the front on the box, however ducktape the filter securly in so it cant leak past it, if it is restricting it realy bad you should be able to tell
SupraT61
The cars not mapped yet, I don't know if I should get it mapped with this box on or just buy a 4" cone filter then fit the box later and see if there's any difference The reason I wanted to keep the stock air box is because I'm keeping the SMIC (replaced with new one) So the cooler air I start with the better as I don't have a large FMIC to cool it
Homer
Ryan.G did exactly the same on his GT4088 (slightly larger turbo) but I think he found it too restricive and changed it for a AEM or K&N filter. You might get away with it on a T61... one way to find out! Looks like a tidy job
dannysupratt
does look like a very tidy job, nice one hope it works ok

Homer
Ahh OK, what a shame It's still worth giving it a try just to see how you get on. Ryan was running with WI, cams, a slightly larger turbo that was dyno'd at around the 560bhp mark. It might work fine on yours. PS: You'd do well to put a blanket on that turbo, it really helps with the under bonnet temps
imi
Looks like an amazingly tidy job there.....l would love to know how you get on. imi
SupraT61
It's still worth giving it a try just to see how you get on. I just cant afford to get it mapped twice if it doesn't make the power using this box if you know where I'm coming from. I'll have a look to see if I can duct an extra feed into it from inside the wing or something. I'll be getting a turbo blanket also Thanks guys
Swampy442
Just to put a bit of input in here, why dont you a Soarer BPU upgrade, cut a bigger apperture in the front of the airbox? Less restriction, plenty of cool air from behind the headlight. Just an idea
